Open Question: Why is it that many girls find New Yorkers attractive?

I was in Georgia last week when i met a girl who fell in love with the fact that i was from new york. She told me how her and her friends had always wanted to date a New Yorker. Now this may only be true for her, but do girls usually find men more attractive that are from a certain or different state? i.e You meet a guy and his identical twin.
